Honour Society Executive Board

Our executive board governs the activities, budget, and operations of Honour Society, our parent-teacher organization. Board members are elected annually in May for the next fiscal year, which is from July 1 to June 30, for a one year term.  There are also a few positions that are appointed by the board members, including Finance Secretary, Hospitality Coordinator, and Parent Committees.  We have several board members whose kids are current eighth graders promoting to high school, which will leave positions open.  Attend our general meetings to learn more and apply for a nomination, or contact us.

BOARD POSITIONS

 

PRESIDENT

Our president works closely with school administrators to plan and execute the duties of Honour Society, including school events and programs, and presides over the meetings of the executive board and all Honour Society functions.

 

 

VICE PRESIDENT

Our vice president collaborates with the president, committees and school groups to coordinate, plan and implement programs such as teacher grants, meetups and parent nights out, is a member of the election committee, and oversees parent classroom committees (similar to room parents), and may perform the duties of the president in the event of their absence or inability to act.

 

VP of FINANCE

Our VP of Finance is the chief financial officer and chair of the budget committee.  The VP of Finance administers and maintains the banking functions and accounting records of Honour Society, including in-person and online sales, and presents monthly financial reports of income and expenditures compared to budget at general meetings.

 

AUDITOR

Our Auditor performs a bi-annual internal audit of the financial statements of Honour Society for the first and second half of each fiscal year and reports results to the Honour Society executive board.

 

DEAN oF COMMUNICATIONS

Our Dean of Communications works closely with school administration and manages our external communications, marketing, and social media, and any communications committees.

 

DEAN OF FUNDRAISING

Our Dean of Fundraising manages our fundraising activities, including our fall and spring fundraisers, and spirit nights and any fundraising committees.

 

Dean of Student development

Our Dean of Student Development coordinates with and supports the school's ASB and PAL groups on student development programs, including assemblies and Blackwells/PBIS rewards program.

 

DEAN OF Spirit

Our Dean of Spirit selects spirit wear vendors and facilities spirit wear sales and promotes school spirit.

 

DEAN OF volunteers

Our Dean of Volunteers organizes parent and community volunteers and coordinates monetary, food and supplies donations to ensure school events run smoothly.

 

PARLIAMENTARIAN

Our Parliamentarian maintains and ensures compliance with our bylaws, and is chair of the election committee, reports results of elections, and oversees transition of board members.

 

 

RECORDING SECRETARY

Our Recording Secretary prepares and makes available for posting general meeting agendas and minutes.

 

 

APPOINTED POSITIONS 

Hospitality coordinator

Our hospitality coordinator plans and purchases food and beverages for Honour Society events requiring hospitality, including staff appreciation events.

 

 

FINANCE SECRETARY

The Finance Secretary supports the finance function, including collection of checks and cash and making timely deposits to the bank.
