OPA-MS Honour Society
SUPPORTING EACH OTHER AND OUR CHAMPIONS
Honour Society is OPA-MS's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). All parents and teachers are members of Honour Society (there is no fee to join). Our Honour Society is made up of hard-working parents and teachers who pool their talents to provide practical support for our school.
WHAT DOES HONOUR SOCIETY DO?
We organize various fundraisers and events throughout the year. With your generous donations and volunteer efforts, we fund and support the following:
School Events and Programs
We help organize and support school events programs to enhance the experiences of our student Champions:
- Positive Behavorial Interventions and Support (PBIS) rewards to motivate our student Champions, including Blackwells student store
- Associated Study Body (ASB) activities, including school dances
- Fall Festival: carnival games, including escape room, climbing wall and many more activities
- Grade Level Meetups
- Literature Day/Boo Bash
- Frosty Follies
- Cultural Events: Lunar New Year celebration, including lion dance performance
- Anti-bullying assembly with BMX Freestylers
- Spring Foam Run jog-a-thon, including hydration for our student Champion runners
- Cum Laude Awards ceremony, including desserts and drinks
- International Day, including performances
- Nutrition for our student Champions during state testing periods
- Field Day
- Breakfast with a Loved One for parents and guardians
- End of Year Celebration event
- 8th Grade Promotion ceremony
- Where Everyone Belongs (WEB) Leadership program for 7th graders to assist 5th graders transitioning from elementary to middle school
Classroom, Support, Athletics and Enrichment Grants
We support professors with annual grants in the education, athletics, enrichment, and mental health of our student Champions:
- Classroom supplies, resources, equipment and enrichment materials for Science and related labs, Math, English Language Arts (ELA), Social Studies, and STEAM and Speech and Debate Program
- Enrichment activities and games, and other supplies for world language courses (Spanish and Mandarin)
- Paint and other art supplies for the art and art enrichment classes
- Sheet music for strings and marching band
- Mindfulness activities, stress balls and fidgets for the Counseling Room
- Motivational materials and resources for Scholar Academy special education program
- End of season banquets for athletic teams: cheerleading, football, soccer, volleyball, cross country and more
- Equipment for school events hosted by ASB and/or Honour Society

- Staff Appreciation Week: coffee cart, gift cards and more
